In Case You were Wondering...

...how I came to start this website, I have for so long wanted to be a trainer/facilitator, mainly in soft skills for the business world. That's really tough to break into. Once I read about a company called SolutionPeople in Fast Company magazine, I felt a real pull...I visited their website, felt an even stronger pull, and realiaed their "training room" was the type of "office" I wanted to report to every day-a workplace I would be proud to show off! A few months later, at the Midwest Facilitation Conference, I overheard someone mention SolutionPeople. I near-instantly found who it was, told him I wanted to be part of that company, and he offered to help me in my quest, giving me one of his colorful SolutionPeople business cards. Well, like they say, one good way to get through a company's doors is to find a connection...

The Story Continues

...so now I had a way to call the company. No need to use my connection's name. I spoke to the receptionist, who thought I wanted to register for one of their lively, unforgettable trainings. After correcting them, they understood I was seeking an internal position...none of which they would have open for a few months.

A little ahead of schedule, I called with great hope. The company employee told me...Those internal positions are really only the founder, his wife, and one or two staffers. All trainers and facilitators, other than the owner, work there on an as-needed basis...so, part-time, yet paying part-time like high-level consultants get paid part-time!!!

Well, shut out again for a facilitator position somewhere else...at my dream company! My dream setting! A company with a dream reputation! And me with my nightmare ending.
